Join us at Touche Gallery for an enchanting evening of contemporary art. This highly anticipated event brings together a dazzling array of works from celebrated artists, Lana Shuttleworth.

Artist Lana Shuttleworth continues to defy expectations and to find beauty in unexpected places. Drawing inspiration from two groundbreaking artists, Frank Stella and Memphis Wood, Shuttleworth’s new work demonstrates her innovative approach to material exploration. The structural flow between 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional works finds a creative cross-pollination in the work of Memphis Wood, who weaves in yarn, and Frank Stella, who weaves intersecting planes.

In the exhibition Structural Flow: the Resonance of Stella + Wood, the viewer experiences visual movement as compositions appear to vibrate, engaging the viewer as only Op Art can do. The process of
looking activates the artwork, teasing the mind to make sense of the illusion of movement within patterns in black and white.

Like Memphis Wood, Shuttleworth’s materials dictate what she does with them. At the same time, Shuttleworth draws on the opticality of Frank Stella’s early works while also embracing his fusion of painting, prints, and
sculpture.

"As an artist,” Shuttleworth says, “I transform the ubiquitous and mundane into works of art that may change how the viewer thinks
about the world around them. My exploration of materials is expressed through discovery and creativity. In this space between the past and the present lies an 'eco-tone' of sorts for me—a place where my materials leap from their intended purpose to transition to a new form, leaving behind previous perceptions to take on new meaning. "
